Nandi Jack (Choreographer) Graduating with her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Wayne State University, Nandi is beginning her professional career within the arts and aspires to continue her work as a choreographer and future attorney focusing on avocation and acknowledgment of diversity within both performing arts and legal environments. Within her academic career Nandi has worked in collaboration with The Underground theater of Wayne State University, Jazz dancer/choreographer Monique Haley, Jit master ‘Queen’ Gabby, and Baira ‘Mvmnt’ Philosophy. Concentrating in choreography through her undergraduate career, Nandi culminated her time at Wayne State University with a capstone project ‘Mammy Poppins’, cast with a fully Black female ensemble, Nandi was dedicated to underscoring the importance of Black women’s stories, as well as the significance of diversity within performing arts and dance. Nandi currently occupies many working positions as a dance instructor with Detroit-Windsor Dance Academy, Director of Communications for City Council Member Coleman A. Young II, and Intern for the Law Offices of Vassal Johnson II, and she uses each opportunity to share knowledge, uplift those around her, and advocate for the use of unconventional thinking to answer nuanced problems.
