Jeff Nahan Hailing from West Philly, Jeff Nahan came to Detroit in 1971, where his new mentor, Wallace F. Smith introduced him to the Detroit Repertory Theatre.  From those early shows, The Hairy Ape and Amadee, or How To Get Rid of It, the founders of the Rep had a profound influence on his professional theatre career.  Now, 53 years later, after directing and producing over 100 productions throughout Michigan, Jeff is back home directing. Jeff directed Sweat in the Rep’s Season 66 and Between Riverside and Crazy in Season 67.  He was the founding Artistic Director of Actors Alliance Theatre and Executive Director of Seligman Performing Arts Center.  Jeff also taught theatre at Oakland Community College for 25 years and more recently at the Rep’s Saturday Actors Workshop. Jeff dedicates his work to the love of his life, Annette DePetris; partner, fellow artist, and mother of their son, Matt.

Jeff is a member of Equity, SAG/AFTRA and SDC.

Jeff directed Alamo Shoes and can also be seen playing the role of Sturdyvant in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
