Tayler Jones

Tayler Jones is returning to the Detroit Rep stage after appearing as Mattie in last season’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. Jones received her BFA in Acting from Wayne State University, her MFA in Applied Drama from Eastern Michigan University, and studied Advanced Actor Training at the Moscow Art Theatre School. A Detroit native, Tayler is a versatile theatre artist, actress, director, and teaching artist. A proud product of Detroit Public Schools, Tayler now inspires the city’s youth as a teaching artist, leading playmaking at Matrix Theatre Company and teaching life skills through improv with the Detroit Creativity Project. Tayler’s talent has been recognized on national platforms, having appeared on PBS and Good Morning America. Recent performances include Ann Arbor: Then, Now, Next with Limelight Theatre Company, The Book Club Play (Lily) at Inspired Acting, Dot’s Home (Mavis) touring with A Host of People, The Golden Loc (Airianna/Little Girl) at the Obsidian Theatre Festival, and the Oscar-qualifying short film, Well. Tayler is thrilled to live out her childhood dream of being a cheerleader (if only on stage) and wishes to thank her niece, Jordyn, whose dedication to competitive dance continues to inspire her.
